Senate Resolution No. 11

Congratulating Joanna Bernabei, a senior at West Liberty State
College, for making NCAA basketball history by recording 1,000
assists and 1,000 points in a college basketball career, and
for her selection as the "West Virginia Conference Women's
Basketball Player of the Year".
Whereas, The outstanding basketball ability of Joanna
Bernabei, a senior at West Liberty State College, and a graduate of
Madonna High School, Weirton, West Virginia, became the third
player in NCAA Division II history to record 1,000 assists and
1,000 points in a college basketball career; and
Whereas, To further her history-making basketball
achievements, Joanna Bernabei, with 1,000 assists and 1,178 points,
became the second woman and the sixth player overall to reach the
1,000 point and 1,000 assists plateau in collegiate basketball;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates Joanna Bernabei, a senior
at West Liberty State College, for making NCAA Division II history as the player to record 1,000 assists and 1,000 points in a college
basketball career, and for becoming the second woman and sixth
player overall to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 assists in
collegiate basketball, and for her selection as the "West Virginia
Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Joanna Bernabei, NCAA Basketball
champion.
